BNI GPN Debit Card Cannot Request VCN
On the previous occasion, I have discussed several times about BNI VCN (BNI Virtual Card Number) BNI Debit Online. This is a service presented by PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk in cooperation with MasterCard, allowing BNI customers to have virtual account numbers in the form of online debit that can be filled in with balances and used transactions in various countries that support MasterCard.
Like the story in the previous post because BNI's debit card was blocked I finally decided to make a new card this time I chose the GPN BNI debit card. This means that the new debit card or ATM card has the GPN (National Payment Gate) logo, the last few months being touted by banking companies so that customers have at least 1 debit card with the GPN logo.
What was interesting then was that after I succeeded in creating a BNI GPN debit card I thought there would be no problem if I wanted a BNI Debit Online VCN request. In fact, I can't request BNI VCN because debit cards don't currently have the MasterCard logo running the GPN
And to be able to re-apply for BNI VCN Debit Online requests must file a card with the MasterCard logo as I have before. And I don't know for sure but it looks like we can have one GPN debit card and the other is a debit card with a MasterCard or Visa logo from a BNI account.
It's just not so interested in having two debit cards because there are admin fees for the monthly card that must be borne, having two cards means there are 2 admin card fees that must be paid each month.
Then what about VCN?
Thankfully the online debit or VCN feature is not only owned by Bank BNI but also at CIMB Niaga Bank and I happen to have an account at the banking company. In the previous post I also had time to discuss how to request VCN through Bank CIMB Niaga internet banking services, namely CIMB Clicks.
The interesting thing is that the VCN from Bank CIMB Niaga yesterday I tried to use for foreign e-commerce transactions, the US Dollar rate against the Rupiah that I got was not too high. It's just that the VCN request process at CIMB Clicks is more complicated compared to BNI VCN Online Debit.
When requesting VCN at CIMB Clicks, we first send an authentication code to the telephone number in the form of an SMS and this is subject to a tariff or SMS fee, then we enter the code on the CIMB Clicks page. After the VCN has successfully processed the second stage, we will send the CVC2 security code via SMS and this will again be charged a credit deduction.
This means that we are charged twice the SMS banking fee for requesting VCN at CIMB Clicks while at Bank BNI we can request BNI Debit Online VCN through dial-up access * 141 # later we will only receive 1 SMS containing BNI online debit details that we request .
So, for those of you who might have replaced your BNI debit card with the MasterCard logo on the GPN BNI debit card, don't be surprised if you can't finally do the BNI Debit Online VCN request because this service is connected to the customer's account debit card.
